Governor's Ball Nike x NBA Artist Packaging

By Josh Beyer on 07/03/18

A Staple in the summer festival circuit, Governor's Ball takes over Randall's Island in NY on the first weekend of Every June. This years festival featured artists like, Eminem, Travis Scott, Halsey, Khalid, Post Malone and many more.

In partnership with Nike, the NBA and New Era, we created a tiered packaging system that put customized jerseys in the hands of the festival's most influential.

A few of the headlining artists received custom seeding kits inspired by touring cases that were designed by Mega and produced in partnership with the team at Matchless Build. The cases featured a velvet liner and custom branding that hero'd the headwear from New Era and the jerseys from Nike.

We took a more functional approach to creating the second tier of packaging. Knowing the challenges and realities of going to a festival, we wanted to create something that allowed artists and influencers easily carry their custom jersey, while still enjoying the festivities hands free.

We spent most of our time in the artist village with Nike and the NBA, but had a chance to take in some of the festival when the customization booth was shut down.

Here are our key takeaways:

1. Wear a Nike x NBA jersey when you go to a festival. It's super practical.

2. Bring a phone charger.

3. Third Eye blind can still like, get it.
