Designer
The Job:
Studio Mega is a dynamic creative team specializing in brand identity, content creation and experience design. We work with companies big and small, from startups to industry leaders, defining new brands or refining existing ones. We believe deeply in the transformative power of design.
To work at Mega is to help craft the many ways in which creativity can shape the world. As an experienced designer on our team you’re a multi-faceted thinker and maker responsible for helping us create the work that meets the needs of our clients and helps our studio thrive creatively, financially and culturally.
You’ve spent the last few years honing your craft through design support and execution. Now, you have a greater understanding of the many considerations that go into building sophisticated solutions for our clients and the role you play in helping the studio create thoughtful, meaningful and useful work.
More than a maker, you’re a contributor, bringing strong conceptual thinking and pushing the work to be better. You are an active participant in all design conversations with your team, working closely and collaboratively with your program managers, design directors, and fellow designers to get the job done.
While each of us comes with our own unique experiences and expertise, we wanted to outline a few of the things we expect from any of our team members that can apply regardless of an individual's specific skill set.
We’ll ask for you to…
- Work closely with your creative lead to become a key participant of any project you’re working on.
- Maintain a level of creative excellence strategically and executionally.
- Work well with your program and account managers to understand and then deliver within the parameters of any team project (time, scope, resource).
- Be responsible for the completeness of your work, in craft and accuracy.
- Be an active participant in all design conversations and reviews, proactively asking the right questions and bringing new ideas, tools and energy to every project you’re on.
- Be an antenna for outside inspiration, bringing new thinking & ideas into the studio
- Be an ambassador outside of the studio, represent Mega in ways that attract the best talent and partnership to the studio
We’ll look to you to…
- Have 3-5 years of experience creating work similar to what Studio Mega is hired to create.
- Impeccable portfolio that demonstrates conceptual and visual depth and breadth.
- Be a critical thinker bringing a distinct point of view that challenges and inspires us all to be better.
- Proficiency in design software; Adobe Creative Suite and Figma are a must, and in building client-facing presentations.
- Experience in various design workflows; concepting, identity design, layout, typography, some digital experience is a plus.
- Understand the parameters of your project and the role that you will play in bringing it to life.
- Communicate well and present your work, making the complex feel simple by providing distinct and meaningful solutions for our partners.
- Be a team player, working collaboratively, communicating effectively, and bringing a positive energy to the group dynamic.
- Show a self-motivation to grow – actively seeking ‘better’ through new skills, tools and experiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking and managing shifting priorities.
